CTMH Color Wheel

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share the CTMH Color Wheel and how their line of colors fits into each portion of the wheel. As you can see from the wheel, they have several colors in each section of the wheel to give stampers a full spectrum of colors.

They also have the latest how to book called “The Love of Color“.

I have actually used this how to program when creating the Love card. I started out with the one color I wanted to use in the card and looked through the “Love of Color” to see which inks coordinated with my main color. It makes it much easier to choose which colors work together when someone has done all the hard work 🙂

I Heart Us Scrapbooking

Pages created with I Heart US

Hi Everyone

Today, I wanted to share the scrapbook pages I created using the I Heart Us Scrapbooking kit. There is enough material to create 3 two-page layouts. I have some left over pieces that I plan on making another layout that I will feature as soon as it is completed.

You are so loved

The layout “You are so loved” uses cardstock cut at a diagonal and placed at opposite ends of the two page layout. I used black glitter ribbon along the edge of the yardstick before attaching the zip strips. There are compliments and sequence through-out the layout.

Beautiful

The second 2-page layout uses several compliments, cardstock, zip strips and sequence. I like the blend of pattern paper and cardstock. There is a small amount of black glitter ribbon and the upper left and lower right of the layout.

Love

This is perhaps my favorite layout, although, they are all beautiful and bright and cheerful. I love the rainbow color stipe that goes across both layouts. The photos will be accented with all the different compliments and Sequence.

It didn’t take very long to create, a couple of hours. Now, I have 3 new layouts ready for my photos!

Valentine’s Day Cards

Hi Everyone

Today, I wanted to share a couple of Clean and Simple cards for Valentine’s Day using the February Stamp of the Month, Love in Bloom stamp set along with the stamp set from the Love in Bloom collection, A Piece of My Heart. In making both cards, I would recommend a stamp positioning tool.

For two of the cards, I used the main image from the February Stamp of the month. I centered the image on the card base and first stamped the image with Raspberry ink, then with VersaMark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. The second card, I followed the same process but I used Pixie ink instead.

The third card, I used the Love in Bloom stamp set which is a 6 step stamping stamp set. I used Heather ink for the word LOVE. For the flowers, I used Pixie, Ballerina, and Raspberry. For the leaves, I used Fern and New England Ivy.

This stamp set does require to be able to line up the placement. If you don’t have a stamp positioning tool, lay the stamp on the card base lining it up and carefully place a clear block over to pick up the stamp. Try to find a focal point that you can use to line it back up when stamping with ink.

Well, that should do it for today.

Love Blossom Special

Love Blossom

Hi Everyone

I have been excitedly waiting for the day that I could order this kit!. Today is the day! Create a set of 12 charming cards with the exclusive My Acrylix® Love Blossoms stamp set and workshop. This workshop features dry embossing techniques using the new Swiss Dot embossing folder with the pastel tones of Carolina, Lilac, Peach, and Pixie cardstock.

  • Using soft, pastel hues, these cards are beautiful inside and out, with stamping on the front and back of the cards. Two designs include stamped sentiments on the inside as well.
  • There are several techniques with the Love Blossoms cards, including how to use the same card pattern in a monochromatic color scheme. This means you can use the same patterns and instructions, but each color of card has its own unique feel. There is the versatility of the Swiss Dot embossing folder and how to add color to stamped images with ink and a water brush.

I can’t wait to use this kit with my watercolor pencils and paints. This kit would work with a number of stamp sets. Below is the cutting guide. Take a look and see if you have stamp sets that you could use at home. I am thinking of trying this kit with the Budding Peony stamp set.

Lucky Friendship Cards and Box

Hi Everyone

Today, I wanted to share a card kit that is super easy to create, beautiful colors, and is bright and cheerful.

I am in love with the paper line from Close to My Heart called “I Heart Us”. It features the following colors: Pixie, Raspberry, Thistle, Bluebird, Lagoon, Mint, Sweet Leaf, Canary, Black.

In this particular kit called “Lucky Friendship” features some of the papers from the “I Heart Us” paper line, along with a sheet of black glitter paper, 12 card bases and envelopes, and a B-size stamp set.

In addition to the card kit, I decided to create a card storage box that will hold all 12 cards and envelopes. In my case, I used one of the card fronts to decorate the top of the card box, so my box holds 11 cards.

I have a Cricut Design cut file. One note about the file, it uses a 12×24 mat. I am currently working on modifying the flaps so they are 1/2 inch instead of 1 inch.

This kit took me about an hour and half to make. The card box requires two additional pieces of cardstock that are not included in the kit.

Here is the cutting guide that can be downloaded and printed off.
