I have been feeling very anxious these past few weeks. Now I find myself at home for a month to rest due to health reasons and instead I find that I worry all the time. I am worried about bills and my finances. I am worried about my health and what will happen next.
This morning, as I sit down to do my daily devotional, I come along this entry in Illustrated Faith's 100 Days of Promise. Don't Be Anxious. How amazing that this should be today's devotional entry!
I am so amazed at how our Heavenly Father works, giving us what we need when we need it. As, I read the versus, I used some of the Illustrated Faith Cardstock Die-cuts and stickers to decorate around my journal area.
In my ESV Bible, I marked one of the 4 scriptures from the 100 Days of Promise that really spoke to me:
Matthew 6:33-34 English Standard Version (ESV)
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Taken from Bible Gateway)
I used a die-cut from the Illustrated Faith line and marked the passages according to the color chart from the SOAK method.
It is still difficult to not be anxious, but knowing what the LORD is doing for me, helps to ease my mind. Working to focus on Today is the key. We spend so much time focusing on the future, we forget to live in the moment. Then suddenly, we are presented with something that jars us and we live in regret. As Jesus put it in Matthew:
Matthew 6:27 English Standard Version (ESV)
27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? (Taken from Bible Gateway)
Thanks so much for taking a moment to stop by. Many many blessings.
