Today, I wanted to share my Traveler’s Notebook along with the Illustrated Faith Lent 2018 printables kit. I purchased the Printable kit from their website and through Photoshop, I created several clear sticker sheets and devotionals on cardstock.
I already have a Bible Journal Traveler’s Notebook that had the devotionals I am currently working on but I find another at Hobby Lobby for less than half price. I paid $7.50 for it and decided to use this one for my Lent 2018 insert.
Both of the covers are from Webster’s Pages. The one with the flowers on is one I got last year and holds my current devotionals. The peach one on the left is the new one I found at Hobby Lobby for $7.50. I like how portable they are so I also purchased a planner insert.
I had watched Lindsey, a blogger and Bible Journal, do something similar in a video post. I happen to have the same insert she did and decided to use it since it was the only one I had that wasn’t being used.
Inside my notebook, I have several small die cuts, stickers, tip ins and a pen. One the cover of the insert, I had created a sticker with the Illustrated Faith Lent 2018 logo and placed it in the center of the insert.
I cut out the commitment card and attached it to the first page in the notebook. I wrote what my intentions were during the 40 days of Lent. I have decided to give up sweets and coffee.
It might be difficult for the first few days but overall its better for my health. What better motivation than to give up the junk food during a time when Jesus was in the wilderness and fasted.
In addition to the printables, I also used some die cuts that I had in my stash. I found ones that matched the colors in the printables and that added interest to the journal.
The printables also come with lots of scriptures to read over the 40 days. On the ones that I decided to print on cardstock, I rounded the corners with my 1/4 inch corner chomper and inked the edges with Tim Holtz’s Distress Oxide ink in Lipstick.
Other scriptures were printed on clear sticker paper and added to the journal leaving spaces for me to journal about what I have read or to write the scripture itself.
In this photo, I also took one of the printable artwork and printed it on clear sticker paper and placed it on the page as an embellishment.
I added scripture and embellishments through out the journal for the full 40 days with a reflection page as the last page of the notebook so I can write what I thought about or felt during the Lent season.
Well, that should do it for now. See you again soon!
