Today, I cased another card from Nichol. I am not familiar with many of these stamp companies since I was mostly a mini album person so I like to get ideas and get comfortable with card making again. For this card, I chose Mama Elephant A Cookie Christmas. I really like their stamps. They are made in the USA and the material give a really good impression compared to others where the ink beads on top of the stamp.
I used a spellbinder label die (number 1) and cut out the frame for the card. I didn’t have the one in the video but this one worked out well. I used Citron distress ink and inked the label and part of the frame then sprits some water on top and dried with a paper towel.
I used the sentiment from MFT Happy Pawidays because there are treats attached to the cookie house. I stamped the sentiment and the images in Versa Fine ink and heat set it with a heat tool.
I have never used Zig Clean Color markers before so I wanted to give it a try. They actually color like Intense in the fact the color can be moved around with a lighter color. This had me thinking that next time I will use my Intense pencils and see how it goes. Below are the colors I used:
Pale Pink, S. Almond Pink, Light Pink, Light Carmine. Carmine Red, Bright Yellow, Yellow, Yellow Green, Light Green, Flesh, Beige, Oatmeal, Pale Gray, Deep Brown.
I used the coordinating dies and cut out the images. With a glue pen, I added some glitter. Going forward, I would have used glitter glue because the glue pen caused the color to bleed. I added the frame to the base card, then attached the house in the center. The top layer is popped up on foam dots and placed on top. For the edges, I used a Di’sire edge die. I added the bunny and the reindeer along with a hear above the chimney and added glossy accents.
The zigs were fun to use and I think with more practice I will get better at them. That should do it for today.
