I happened to see a new release video from Altenew on their new watercolor paint set. I have been really interested in getting started with watercoloring and I loved the colors in this set, plus the colors are artist quality, so I decided to purchase during their special.
I used the Waffle Flower Swatch stamp set to create a swatch card on watercolor paper. I inked the stamp with Versa fine black ink and heat set it. I used my MISTI to stamp since I had to stamp several times to get a good impression on watercolor paper.
The swatch stamp is a set of 24 and the Altenew is a set of 36 so I had to stamp an additional two rows. The design makes it very easy to line up the sets. There are spacers included to help with alignment but it was easy without them.
The watercolor set comes with a watercolor brush that I used to swatch out each pan. I think the colors are beautiful and the assortment has a little bit from each of the color families.
The Altenew set comes in a nice case that hold 36 pans plus a water brush. During their special, they were adding an additional case to be used with any pans that you may have. I do have Prima Marketing watercolors that I might add to the empty pan. Makes it nice that all my favorite colors are in one spot.
Here is my finished swatch. I will let the swatch dry overnight then laminate it in the morning. The size of the swatch is 5x7.
I can't wait to uses these on a card. I have some ideas I want to try and will post them as I complete them.
That should do it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by.
